At 25 weeks pregnant, Jules and Jevon McBride’s world changed in an instant.
A devastating car accident left them both seriously injured — and led to the premature birth of their daughter, Juliana, weighing just 1 pound, 11 ounces. While Juliana fought for her life in the NICU, Jules recovered in a wheelchair and Jevon endured multiple surgeries. Leaving their daughter’s side was never an option. Then they found Ronald McDonald House.
For 105 days, the McBrides stayed at one of our Houses while their daughter received care and treatment at the nearby hospital.
The House was not just rooms and walls – it was being close to Juliana, a place to cope, a community of support, and a home for their family to stay together while Juliana fought for her life.
In the end, they walked out as a family of three – not in the way they imagined, but together.
